Three Atascadero women receive scholarships from local chamber


ATASCADERO —  The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee had their Annual Scholarship Luncheon/Meeting at the Portola Inn, catered by Chef Charlie on Friday, Aug. 10.
The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee presented scholarships to three deserving women:
Julia Clickard is studying Ecology, Behavioral Ecology and Planetary Science at the University of California, Santa Cruz
Christina Rogers is studying Musical Theatre, Shakespeare, Theatre History, Ballet, Sing Tech, Acting and Movement at PCPA, Allan Hancock Community College
Alexandria Roy is studying Social Institutions, Gender Studies, Cultural Geography, Cultural Anthropology at Cuesta College
The Atascadero Chamber Women in Business began presenting scholarships in 2006 and have continued this tradition ever since. To date they have presented over 40 scholarships to women in the community of Atascadero, totaling over $20,000.
The Atascadero Chamber Women in Business holds monthly meetings at various member locations throughout the year offering different subjects with guest speakers. They raise money for scholarships through their opportunity drawings. All money raised benefits women in the community of Atascadero.
