CUESTA GRADE — Several vehicles were burglarized at the parking area of the West Cuesta Ridge Trailhead on the Cuesta Grade on May 26.
The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office is asking assistance from the public in identifying the suspect who is believed to have broken into six vehicles on May 26 parked at TV Tower Road.
The burglaries were reported to have happened between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. The suspect broke car windows and stole property including wallets, credit cards, riding equipment and jewelry.
Police obtained surveillance photos of a suspect when one of the stolen credit cards was used at an ATM. The Sheriff's Office is asking that anybody who can identify this suspect contact the Sheriff's Office at (805) 781-4550.
The Sheriff's Office urges residents to take preventative steps to avoid becoming a victim of vehicle burglary. It is important to be mindful of what is left in vehicles and avoid leaving valuables visible. It is recommended that you lock doors and windows, park in a well-lit area, and if your vehicle has an alarm be sure to activate it.
