ATASCADERO — The Atascadero City Council approved a consent agenda item in July that will allow a local veterans group to use a conference room at City Hall free of charge.
The decision was made after local veterans Chuck Ward and Dana Cummings spoke to the council at a meeting in June and asked them to allow the San Luis Obispo County Veterans’ Services Office to make use of one of the newly remodeled Rotunda Building’s first floor conference rooms free of charge. Ward said the move would be appropriate considering the fact that the building was dubbed the Atascadero Veterans’ Memorial Building in 1952. In light of this fact, the city will be waiving the normal rental fees charged to use the room for this organization only. For the complete article see the 08-06-2014 issue.
