ATASCADERO — The campus at Santa Rosa Elementary school has been stripped down to its bare bones and will be completely rebuilt, remodeled and modernized over the next few weeks.
The improvements are being paid for with funds from Bond Measure I-10, approved by voters in 2010 to pay for $117 million in modernization efforts at campuses across the Atascadero Unified School District. AUSD Facilities Director Stu Stoddard says that the Santa Rosa improvements are being paid for with funds from portions of bond series A and B and the remainder of the funds in bond series B will be used for improvements at Atascadero Junior High School when its modernization project starts in June of 2015.
Wysong Construction will be completing the upgrades and owner Larry Wysong, who is personally overseeing the project, says everything is right on schedule.
“I’m very confident that we’re going to be done right at the start of school,” Wysong said. “It’s a very tight schedule, but it’s right on that schedule.” For the complete article see the 07-16-2014 issue.
