ATASCADERO — A 67-year-old Atascadero woman was arrested Monday after allegedly spraying a group of people protesting on the Curbaril Avenue overpass at Highway 101 with pepper spray.
Fred Starbuck says the group, who gather on the overpass once a month to protest the policies of the Obama Administration, was getting ready to call it a day just after 5 p.m. Monday when the attack occurred.
“I turned around and all I see is a hand and a yellow liquid spraying at me,” Starbuck said.
Starbuck says the woman stopped her vehicle and sprayed him square in the face before spraying the rest of the group as she drove away. Most of the people in the group were not harmed, with the exception of Starbuck, one other protestor who got hit in the side of the face and another who got hit in the arm.
