ATASCADERO — Every artist, every medium and every art genre is welcome at the Under $200 show set to open Friday at The ARTery in downtown Atascadero.
The art shop and gallery holds shows throughout the year, but this one is special because everyone is welcome.
“The Under $200 Art Show is unusual in that anyone can enter any art they have made. The Under $200 Art Show is unjuried, so anyone can enter any visual art. As a result this art show is very inclusive and may feature all ages and all skill levels,” said Bill Arkfeld who owns the ARTery with his wife, Bobbi Nuñez. “We typically get about 40 to 50 artists participating in past years. So it’s a community event. The opening will be Friday, Nov. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be music by the Wandering Limbs.”
It’s not too late to enter. Today is the official deadline to submit art for the show, but if there is room left on the walls art will be accepted through Saturday, Nov. 30. The show will run through mid January. For the complete article see the 11-20-2013 issue.
