Central Coast man creates ordinances that allow walking a fine line

Luke Phillips/Atascadero News Morro Bay resident Tim Ross sits atop a one-inch strip of nylon while practicing the sport known as ‘slacklining’ at Atascadero Lake Park Saturday.

On a sunny Saturday morning at Atascadero Lake Park, 52-year-old Morro Bay resident Tim Ross sets the weight of his right leg down on top of one end of a one-inch strip of nylon stretched 150 feet between two large trees, carefully balancing himself by keeping his eyes on the tree at the far end of the line before eventually bringing his feet completely off the ground.

“This is exceptionally difficult, believe it or not,” Ross said as he sits on the line, legs stretched in front of him, crossed at the ankle, and arms outstretched for balance.
