ATASCADERO — The 36th Annual Colony Days Tea celebrating Atascadero’s 40th Colony Days in the community’s 100th year, drew a crowd of royalty, grand marshals and residents to remember good times.
Lon Allan hosted part of the event, as he has done for many years, and also, as predicted, he drew laughter from the crowd as he shared tales of community founder E.G. Lewis’ bad driving.
Allan also reminded the crowd that, though Lewis deserves credit for founding Atascadero, he wasn’t here long, and many decades of residents since then have added their own touches to his visions.For the complete article see the 10-16-2013 issue.
