To Atascadero High School drama students, the world is now their stage.

Atascadero Theater Director Catherine Kingsbury is working to give her students a stage on which to act overseas since AHS Drama has been invited to perform at the 2014 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Upcoming fundraising efforts undertaken by the department aim to cover expenses for the trip.

Kingsbury said the trip provides an once-in-a-lifetime experience for any actor, regardless of age or experience.

“It’s important for the kids to have this experience because it’s unique; they are not just going over for a vacation, they are going over to literally work and to perform,” said Kingsbury. “We will be performing at least four times, if not more, and just that experience of presenting something to an international audience will be life-changing.”
