Entry forms for the Biggest Zucchini Contest are now available at the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce, located at 6904 El Camino Real or by Googling “Atascadero Colony Days Biggest Zucchini Contest,” which will lead you to www.colonydays.org/entry/39thColonyDaysZuchini-Entry.pdf
The contest will take place on Oct. 19 during the 40th Annual Colony Days celebration.
There is no fee to enter. Prizes will be awarded following the parade.
Winners will be determined by the weight of their zucchini. First place will receive a ribbon and $50; second place will receive a ribbon and $25 and third place will receive a ribbon and $15.
Contest chair Maggie Vandergon has put out a challenge that she “believes that Atascadero home gardeners can grow bigger zucchini than Templeton and Santa Margarita gardeners!”
Anyone care to take on that challenge?
