ATASCADERO — Sam Salama left Syria about 10 years ago — he said he was leaving Syria as much as he was coming to America — and he landed in Buelton where, for the only time in his life, he was an employee. He now owns and operates Discount Cigarettes in Atascadero where, he said, he is happy as can be. His favorite part of the job? Talking to people.
