Kennard G. Conway, 80, died on March 1, 2013, in San Luis Obispo.
Ken was born in Cottonwood, Ariz. He lived in Wallace, Idaho, as a child, then moved to Wilmington during World War II. He graduated from Banning High School in 1950. Following high school, Ken worked at Midland Rubber Co., then Mobil Oil Refinery in Torrance.
In 1961, he acquired a wholesale egg company, which he operated until 1971. He then purchased B&K Liquor in Lawndale. In 1986, Ken became manager for Payson Bronco in Long Beach and retired in 1994. Ken was a member of the Elks Lodge for many years and served as secretary from 1997 to 1998 in Paso Robles.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Adel Walls.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Linda; three children, Gayle Lyn Conway, Mrs. Phillip Graeff (Cheryl Dee) and Gregory Conway; two grandchildren, Jerimiah Johnson and Jennifer Vise; two great-grandchildren, Talen Gonzales and Cash Patrick Vise.
Mass was held at St. Williamís Catholic Church, 6410 Santa Lucia Road in Atascadero, on Thursday, March 14 at 1 p.m.For the complete article see the 03-08-2013 issue.
