City sees an increase of building permit activity

ATASCADERO — After the residential housing market fell out in 2006, Atascadero Community Development Director Warren Frace said that building permit applications have started to increase. Frace said that in about 1999, the building activity began to pick up significantly and starting in 2000, the city was receiving about 600 building permit applications a year. In 2005, the applications peaked at 1,335.
