SAN MIGUEL ó Ann Granados, 62, of San Miguel died on Feb. 21, 2013, at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., on Jan. 8, 1951, but moved to Ventura by the age of 1. Ann attended Ventura High School and later received her teaching and masterís degrees from Cal Poly.
Ann spent more than two decades of her life dedicated to the students of Lillian Larsen School in San Miguel. She began teaching third grade, but spanned several grades and disciplines, ending her career teaching fifth and sixth grades. Ann was very active in the afterschool music program, Masters at Their Trade, as the music teacher. Ann was passionate about her students, pets, gardens and her cattle ranch in San Miguel.
Ann is survived by her husband, Julian Granados; her son, Nathaniel Alary; her daughter, Andrea Alary; four grandchildren; three stepchildren; six step-grandchildren; friends and community.
The burial will be private; a community memorial service will be held at Paso Robles Bible Church, 2206 Golden Hill Road, on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ann Granados Memorial Scholarship Fund, at Wells Fargo Bank, in Paso Robles. This scholarship is available to students who have attended Lillian Larsen School during their seventh and eighth grade years, graduated from Lillian Larsen and went on to graduate from Paso Robles High School.For the complete article see the 03-06-2013 issue.
