ATASCADERO — San Gabriel Road Elementary School sixth-graders got a sweet treat on Friday. They built their own apple trees. The two sixth-grade classes were visited by the California Rare Fruit Growers Association’s Central Coast chapter — a group led by retired Cal Poly agriculture instructor Joe Sabol, who led the classes through the grafting process.
