SLO County’s Hollywood hit: ‘Mindscans’ plays to a packed house

ATASCADERO — Folks traveled to Atascadero from all around San Luis Obispo County for a special screening of “Mindscans,” a film created entirely in SLO County, with SLO County cast and crew. It was written, directed, produced and filmed by SLO resident Ben Chiu. Closer to home, Atascadero Junior High School English teacher Sholly VonStein was the casting assistant and even played a character.
