ATASCADERO — Five teams of volunteers spent President’s Day on Monday putting up the frames for five homes at People’s Self-Help home building site off El Camino Real on Atalaya Street. The teams had three hours to get the homes’ frames up. There were teams sponsored by Big Creek Lumber, North Coast Engineering, Robins Reed Incorporated, Wells Farm Bank and Hayward Lumber. People’s Self-Helping Housing Fund Development Director Sheryl Flores said that the Robins Reed team won the framing contest by getting done the quickest.
