ATASCADERO — Laurie Rae Quick, 58, of Atascadero died peacefully at her home on Jan. 11, 2013, at 8:45 p.m. with her husband, Dennis Quick; son, Daniel Quick, and his fiancée, Paula Mazzi, who cared for her in the short time she was home, and a few others who cared deeply for her by her side.
Laurie was born on Aug. 8, 1954, in Bakersfield to Dorothy and Sidney Moothart. She moved to Atascadero in 1966 and graduated from Atascadero High where she then attended Bakersfield College to study business. Laurie had worked as a bookkeeper at Tidwell Excavating for 18 years until she went into business for herself.
Laurie loved life and the outdoors spending hours on the beaches looking for sea shells. She loved camping and fishing, but most of all she loved her football — Go 49ers!
Laurie was preceded in death by her dad, Sidney Ray Moothart; her nephew, Kevin Pattrick Amos, and best friend, Tweetie Duke.
She is survived by her mom and dad, Dorothy and Lewis Hart; husband, Dennis Roy Quick; her daughter, Amber Wallace; stepsons, Daniel and Dennis Quick; her siblings, Pamela Rey, Curtis Hart, Kerry Hart and Lynne Amos, and her three granddaughters, Jasmine Rae Quick, Kayle Quick and Daphnee Sky Quick.
Laurie will be fondly and deeply thought of by her husband, family and friends and to all who knew her. She will always remain forever in our Hearts. Her family would like to thank everyone involved for the compassionate care they provided for her over the last year.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chapel of the Roses Mortuary, 3450 El Camino Real, Atascadero; followed by a graveside service at the Atascadero District Cemetery at 2 p.m.
