PASO ROBLES — Orbie Ermine “Bob” Estelle, 90, died peacefully on Jan. 6, 2013, at home. After a long, adventurous life he departed on his final trip to be reunited with the love of his life, Ruby, and son, David.
Orbie was born and raised on a small farm in Oklahoma without electricity or running water.
While serving in the United States Air Force during World War II, he met Ruby in Kansas, married her and they moved to Southern California to start a family.
There he co-founded Wilkins Regulator Company, which later relocated to Paso Robles. Orbie and Ruby fell in love with the town and its people, where they farmed, traveled and lived out their days.
Orbie’s lifelong loves were his family, friends, church, American Legion, Lions, volunteering, fruit, sports and poker.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruby Estelle; and son, David Estelle.Orbie is survived by his son, Robert V. Estelle (Barbara); grandchildren, Nick Estelle and Jessica Estelle; sister-in-law, Alice Long; and many nieces and nephews.
We all miss you, Dad.
A service will be held on Monday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Chapel, 1703 Spring St. in Paso Robles, and followed by a graveside service at the Templeton District Cemetery District.For the complete article see the 01-11-2013 issue.
