PASO ROBLES — Jack Sylva, 75, died of Paso Robles died on Dec. 4, 2012, after battling cancer the last few years of life.
Jack was born in Cambria on Sept. 6, 1937. He was a resident of the Paso Robles community his entire life. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
After graduating high school he attended Cal Poly, joined the Naval Reserve and was a Lion’s Club member. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a love for horses, cattle and photography.
He is survived by three daughters, Susan Tellez of Costa Mesa, Sharon Escobar (Ed) of Paso Robles and Sandra Roberts (Michael) of Shannon, N.C.; sisters, Naomi Laux of Pittsburgh; Lorna Bell of Fresno; brother, John Bertoni (June) of Paso Robles; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
A service will be held in memory of Jack on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at Camp Roberts in the chapel.
