PASO ROBLES — Bessie Atwell Brown, 99, of the Paso Robles and Bradley areas died on Nov. 24, 2012, at Vineyard Hills Health Center.
Bessie was born in November 1913 in Graham, Texas. She lived most of her life in Bradley with her husband Ray Brown owning the only Texaco Station in Bradley and serving the whole community. She was loved by all who knew her with her never-ending help and caring for others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Possie and Iva Bower; her husband, Ray Brown; her brothers, Lee, Donald, Ralph and Dale Bower; and her sisters: Florine Neal and Kathreen Alford.
Bessie is survived by her sister, Calistine Hirchler; daughter, Dorothy Trader; granddaughter, Susan Kauhn; great-grandchildren, Carl and Joey Kauhn, Dane Kauhn, Athony Hudson, Kenra Kauhn; and many nieces and nephews.
The family deeply thanks Vineyard Hills Health Center for their help in making Bessie comfortable for the last month of her life.
A memorial service will be held at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Chapel 1703 Spring St. in Paso Robles on Friday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Paso Robles Grange Hall.
