ATASCADERO — James “Wade” Orchard of Atascadero died on Nov. 24, 2012, in Templeton.
Wade will be remembered by many as a genuine cowboy and a true gentleman. He assumed the role as a father figure, shaping and mentoring many in his lifetime. He was a world-class roper, winning many team roping championships. Wade was a member of the original RCA rodeo team and was regarded as a superior horseman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jo Orchard.
Wade is survived by his sister, Margaret Orchard; children, William and Susan Orchard; grandchildren, Wade and Shalena; niece, Erin Waymire (Paul); goddaughter, Melissa “Missy” Winnaman; and loving family members, J. Pat Larkin, T.J. Long, Lacy Bandelin, Jonathan, Avery and Sidney Waymire.
