Donald Clifton “Cliff” Hinkle, of Paso Robles died on Nov. 10, 2012, at his home.
Cliff was born to Donald and Ann Hinkle, in Bakersfield, California; but lived most of his life in San Luis Obispo County.
He was a loving husband, father, son and loyal friend to all who knew him.
After graduating Atascadero High School in 1983, Cliff started his career as a small engine mechanic and worked at Glenn’s Repair for more than 25 years. Cliff was a skilled mechanic and was well known for his meticulous attention to detail. His workstation was immaculate, from the placement of his tools, to the shine of his painted garage floor. If a wrench was moved an inch, it wouldn’t go unnoticed.
Cliff always made sure his family pets were loved and spoiled. Sky, his dog, Star, his cat, his pet black widow, and now he is with his beloved dog, Blazer. Cliff’s lifetime hobby was dirt bike riding with family and friends. His friends congregated at Cliff’s garage, the central meeting spot, for talk and where he fixed everything. He kept all his toys and equipment pristine, no matter how old they were.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lisa; his children, Cadie and Chris; son-in-law, Dave Brown; and many other family members that loved him dearly.
A memorial fund will be set up at Heritage Oaks Bank in Paso Robles under the name, Cliff Hinkle Memorial Fund.
Cliff was truly one of a kind. His laugh, sense of humor, and servant’s heart will be missed and remembered by all, his family said. For the complete article see the 11-16-2012 issue.
