Alleged asphalt scammers target Atascadero

ATASCADERO — The citizens of Atascadero may be the target of some asphalt spreading scammers. Resident Jim DeCou said he first became aware of it when some trucks with a variety of names and out-of-state license plates ran over his dad’s mailbox while paving a neighbor’s driveway. DeCou said that despite a truck literally having redwood from the mailbox’s post in its tire, the driver denied the damage and said nobody would pay for it.
