Commission to receive emissions toolbox

ATASCADERO — California’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and greenhouse gas will be the topic of a special Atascadero Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. Assembly Bill 32 and Senate Bill 97 require the state — and thus the cities within the state — to reduce greenhouse and carbon emissions to 1990 levels — that’s a 15-percent reduction in Atascadero — by the year 2020. To achieve that goal, the cities of Atascadero, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Morro Bay, Paso Robles, Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo have partnered with each other to receive a grant to help create and implement a plan.
