ATASCADERO — About half of Monterey Road Elementary School’s students started 2013 in freshly renovated classrooms on Tuesday. The rooms, all part of the 200 wing at Monterey Road, were renovated using I-8 bond funds. The bond totals $117 million and will be spread out among all Atascadero Unified School District schools. As the district’s oldest school and one in need of the most repairs, Monterey Road was first on the list. And the first finished classrooms are now in use.
