SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — San Luis Obispo County is less than a week from the plastic bag ban going into effect. The ordinance, adopted on Jan. 11 by the county’s Integrated Water Management Authority, bans the use of single use plastic bags in grocery stores, pharmacies, convenient stores and other big-box stores of 10,000 square feet or larger.
The ordinance also requires that the stores charge at least 10 cents per disposable bags — most likely paper bags.
