Endeavor’s final journey over the state

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — The final flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavor may not have been its longest, or even its most illustrious.

But for thousands of people who gathered statewide to watch the shuttle pass by late Friday morning, it marked the final leg of an epic journey not only for the shuttle, but for a country whose passion for exploration and scientific inquisitiveness was borne by the spacecraft.
