Atas. man killed in motorcycle accident

ATASCADERO — Jon Eric Schulze, 44, of Atascadero lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on Highway 101 and crashed into the center divider at 2 a.m. Saturday, July 21, a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department press release said. He sustained fatal injuries.

California Highway Patrol personnel said that Schulze was headed south on Highway 101, headed home from Paso Robles. He failed to negotiate a turn and collided with the center guardrail just north of San Ramon Road in Atascadero.

The CHP also said that alcohol and excessive speed seemed to play a part in the incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
