24 hours of volleyball

ATASCADERO — Mid-Coast Volleyball Club Head Coach Doug Harbottle is back from the USA Junior Olympic High Performance Summer Camps as Head A3 level Coach, and has prepared two high-quality volleyball camps for local athletes.

Two summer volleyball camps will be offered through the Atascadero Recreation Department. The volleyball camps will be held at the Colony Park Community Center Gym, 5599 Traffic Way in Atascadero.

Session 1 is Saturday, Aug. 4 through Tuesday, Aug. 7 (four days) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Session 2 is Saturday, Aug. 11 through Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The volleyball camp is open to athletes ages 10 to 18. Players will be grouped by skill level — all players will benefit from this “24 Hours of Volleyball” camp. The camp will break down the fundamentals of passing, digging, spiking, blocking, serving and setting through technical instruction, drills and competitions.

The cost for the camp is $160 per player for registration fee and $40 instructor fee. The cost of the camp includes daily lunch (noon to 1 p.m.); please bring water bottle and snacks daily.
