Idaho crash kills Atascadero woman

ONEIDA COUNTY, Idaho — An Atascadero woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a single-vehicle rollover on Interstate 15 just north of the Idaho-Utah border.

According to an Idaho State Police report, Linda Ellen Hanson, 55, of Atascadero was a passenger in a 2005 Ford Escape heading north when the accident happened at about 12:21 p.m. Hanson was partially ejected and died at the scene.

The vehicle was driven by Carol R. Bassett, 55, of Atascadero. According to the report, she drove off the left shoulder, steered back onto the road and overcorrected. The vehicle overturned and rolled off the right shoulder of the road.

Bassett and passenger Dillon Steuer, 15, of Atascadero were flown to Oneida County Hospital in Malad City, Idaho, and then were taken to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello for non-life-threatening injuries.
