ECHO hires first executive director

ATASCADERO — The El Camino Homeless Organization announced this week that it hired its first-ever executive director, Bill Watt of Atascadero.

Watt, who has extensive experience working with the homeless population and homeless prevention, comes into the organization at a time that the nonprofit is looking at purchasing property and expanding its services.

Until now, ECHO had no paid staff. It was made up of all volunteers. Watt’s main objective will be to navigate the organization through the next step and procure funding through donations and grants.
