ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Youth Football & Cheer League is reaching out to the local community in its search for qualified football and cheer coaches. The 2012 season is kicking off July 30 with clinic and conditioning weeks and it is the league’s desire to have all coaching staff in place prior to that date.
Individuals interested in coaching football or cheer, and who have coaching experience, should visit www.atascaderoyouthfootball.com for more information, requirements and applications. If you have never coached but are willing to to be dedicated to the program, a positive influence and willing to learn, also consider applying for a position. All coaches will be required to be live scanned and will be subject to the AYFL Coaches’ Code of Conduct.
Another goal the board has developed for the coming season is to create a program that would be an assistance and resource for the coaching staffs: a playbook that draws from the winning system that the Greyhounds use at Atascadero High School which AYFL coaches could implement. The goal is to communicate key terminology, plays and concepts that would be consistent from year to year and lead to greater success within the league and as youth players progress to the high school.
The AYFL Board of Directors is striving to continually improve every aspect of the league and is looking forward to working with those who are like-minded.
And, remember, Atascadero Football Family — One Town, One Team, One Dream.
The goal of the AYFL is to instill in its young players good sportsmanship, team play, pride in themselves and their ability, and to teach the fundamentals of football and cheer. League and registration information can be found at www.atascaderoyouthfootball.com.
