Burke takes reins as new Atascadero News publisher

ATASCADERO — Jeremy Burke joined the Atascadero News last week as its incoming publisher. He will lead the group that publishes the Atascadero News and Paso Robles Press.

“I’m excited to be back in Atascadero and I look forward to serving the community again,” Burke said.

Burke comes to the newspaper from the Newport News-Times, where he worked as the publisher since 2009. Prior to that, he was the publisher of South County Newspapers in the King City area from 2006 through 2009. He was associate publisher at the Atascadero News in 2005 and 2006 and became publisher of Atascadero News in 2008 until 2009.

He was an Atascadero Main Street board member while he was publisher of Atascadero News in 2008 and 2009. He was also on the Central Coast Zoological Society board, Atascadero Wine Festival Committee and Colony Days Committee.

He began his newspaper career with the Watsonville Register-Pajaronian as advertising director in 2004. Before that he managed Sanderlings Restaurant at Seascape Resort in Aptos for five years.
