Ida Ricci obituary

ATASCADERO — Ida E. Ricci, 93, of Atascadero died on June 25, 2012, at her daughter’s home.

She was born on Sept. 9, 1918, to Giovanni and Maria Mannella in Ateleta, Italy.

A longtime resident of Atascadero, Ida came to California with her new husband Bill from Pittsburg in 1945, settling in Atascadero, remaining there until her passing.

She was a founding member of St. William’s Catholic Church and esteemed member of the Altar Society. She served her church, family and loved ones and friends for the decades to follow. Blessed with two children, son Raymond and daughter Donna, she remained a devoted housewife and mother.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her loving husband Bill in 1983, and her son Raymond also in 1983.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Halliday of Atascadero; granddaughter, Jennifer Halliday DiPietro (Blake) of Livermore; many nieces and nephews both in the United States and Italy. Along with the best friends of her life whose friendship gave her joy. Ida will be missed by all and loved forever.

In leu of flowers, donations to her passion of feeding the poor and homeless can be made to Loaves and Fishes in Atascadero. 

Services will be held on Monday, July 2 at St. William’s Catholic church at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Roses from 9 a.m. to noon on July 2.
