James Lester obituary

ATASCADERO — James Q. “Jimmy” Lester, 55, died on May 11, 2012 at Twin Cities Community Hospital from complications due to congestive heart failure.

Jimmy was a very talented man. He could create anything out of wood, and his forte was creating magic out of wine barrels. His sense of humor was stand up and very few people could outwit him. No matter the situation he could make you smile.

Jimmy was born in Chicago on June 28, 1956.

He is survived by his older brother, Giles L. “G.L.” Lester Jr.; younger sister, Lida Victoria “Vicki” LaBay, and son, Joey Lester.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie A. Thompson; father, Giles L. Lester Sr.; older sister, Diane A. Grace, and older brother, Robert B. Lester.

Jimmy’s sister, Vicki Labay, was at his side for eight days and eight nights until his death. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of life for Jimmy will be held on his birthday, June 28, at 8850 El Camino Real in Atascadero from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

“Happy Birthday Jimmy, we will never forget you,” his family said.
