CRESTON — CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, and the community of Creston will hold a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, May 23 to celebrate the completion of the new Creston Fire Station 43. The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. at the new Creston Fire Station located at 6055 Webster Road near Creston. The community is invited to attend and tour the new fire station.
Currently, the Creston Fire Station is operated out of two modular structures utilized for office and living space and a detached metal building being used to store the county fire engine.
“This fire station will serve the citizens of San Luis Obispo County for well over 50 years,” Fire Chief Robert Lewin said.
This station and the personnel assigned to it are directly responsible for providing service to the greater Creston area consisting of approximately 135 square miles.
Starting June 1, 2012, the new Creston Fire Station will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week by full time CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County Fire Department personnel as well as volunteer firefighters.
