Donald Eugene Thompson, 89, of Atascadero died on June 26, 2011, in Templeton.
He was born in Canby, raised in Arroyo Grande and lived in San Luis Obispo for a number of years before moving to Atascadero in 1988.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Don was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was also an avid gardener, raising vegetables and beautiful flowers.
He enjoyed traveling for many years with his wife Jean in their fifth wheel. One of his greatest pleasures was participating in large family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his son, William; his parents, and six siblings.
Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean; son, Milton and his wife, Michelle, of Atascadero; daughter, Janet Stefanelli of Madera; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A private interment will be held at the Pine Mountain Cemetery in Atascadero. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
Services are under the direction of Chapel of the Roses.
Mildred Guldia Williams, 95, of Creston died on June 24, 2011, in Reedley.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie C. Williams, and son, Ronald S. Williams.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Julia W. MacConochie (John) and Donna Tribbey; son, Donald C. Williams; and grandchildren, Alisa M. Tribbey and Jeremy A. Tribbey.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at the Paso Robles District Cemetery at 10 a.m.
