Carol (Killion-Brown) Lucas, 54, of Atascadero passed away July 26, 2010. She was born in August 1955 in Atascadero and graduated from Atascadero High School in 1973 soon after starting her family.

She was vivacious about life and had an infectious laugh. She loved her family and friends dearly and what will be remembered most about her is her kindness.

Reading and dancing were passions of hers. She obtained her college degree later in life and devoted it to social work, working in the MediCal department.

Even though she was struck down in the prime of her life crippled and bedridden with multiple sclerosis, she never complained. 

Courageously and with grace and dignity, Carol faced her future. 

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Brown III, and niece, Brenda Soto. She is survived by her four children, Gilda Bour, Michael Brown and partner Erin Kravchenko, Amie Brown, Mitch and spouse Stephanie Brown; step-children Patty Lucas, Rick Lucas and Butch Lucas; parents, Lewis and Amelee Killion; siblings, Conni and spouse Joe Valdez, Dan Killion and Jim Killion; grandchildren Gabriella Palmer, Taylor Brown, Ian Kravchenko, Holden Bour, Cayden Brown, Wyatt Brown; nieces, Michelle Valdez, Nichole Valdez, Chelsey Killion, Brycen Killion, Theresa Young and Christina Soto; nephews, Zach Valdez and Robert Soto, and many other family members.        

A gathering of close friends and family will be held this Sunday, Aug. 1 at noon at Deer Camp. She will be dearly missed.
