The annual California Mid-State Fair will open today at noon. Last night this year’s Miss CMSF was chosen during the annual pageant.
The pageant kicked off the yearly event a day earlier than it has historically been held. Marketing Director Tom Keffury said it was so the queen could reign all 12 days of the fair. See Friday’s Atascadero News for complete coverage on the pageant.
Leading up to the opening, a cattle drive will wind its way from the Golden Hills Auto Center at the corner of Golden Hill Road and Highway 46 East starting at 10 a.m. The drive will head down Union Road to 13th Street to Riverside Avenue and arrive at the South Gate at approximately 11:30 a.m.
