Margaret Gough

Margaret “Maggie” Ann Gough, 72, was a beloved wife, sister and friend to many.

She grew up in Dell and Dillon, Mont. on her family’s cattle ranch.

She attended Montana State University and received a degree in history and home economics. She taught elementary school for three years in Spokane, Wash. before moving to Oxnard where she taught second grade and seventh- and eighth-grade home economics for 34 years in the Hueneme School District. She retired in 1998.

Margaret married Geoffrey “Jeff” Gough on June 19, 1971, and they had been together for 39 years.

On July 8, 2010 at about 1:20 a.m., Margaret was in an auto accident in Fresno.

Margaret is survived by her husband; brothers Ed and Harve; sister Angela; Aunt Edith; and her devoted Chihuahua, Rascal.

There will be a Rosary and viewing today at 7 p.m. at Chapel of the Roses in Atascadero. There will be a funeral Mass at St. William’s Catholic Church on Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. The church is at Traffic Way and Highway 101.

There will be graveside services at Pine Mountain Cemetery in Atascadero on Saturday, July 17 at 11:30 a.m. There will be a funeral reception at St. William’s Catholic Church hall following the graveside services at about noon.
