San Gabriel: a school in dire need of repairs

The condition of the storage room, which shares a wall with Pam Billing’s kindergarten class, is just one of the many issues concerning parents and teachers at the school.


ATASCADERO — Leaking roofs, cracked walls, rat infestations and mold problems were just a few of the many concerns voiced about San Gabriel Elementary School during a meeting of the Atascadero Unified School District board of trustees meeting Tuesday.

Long-time school district employee and San Gabriel teacher Pam Billings spoke to the board, beginning her comments by sharing a definition of the word ‘ghetto’.
