The man who would not die: Toe-tagged and prepared for the morgue, Ron Warner refused to die

ATASCADERO — Against all odds, Atascadero resident Ronald Warner will turn 80 this year. But three weeks ago, that didn’t seem possible. He was sedated and hooked up to a ventilator with family members asking doctors to pull the plug and let him die in peace.
